Getting high Page Rank for your website is one of the most difficult tasks any company or webmaster will face.
It could take a lifetime to achieve a maximum page rank of 5.
Page Rank was invented and patented by Google and is based on a calculation from 0-10. In simple and basic understanding terms, Page Rank is a unique way to gather relevancy regarding your website and how authority your website is including what type of backlinks your site has and the quality and relevancy of those backlinks your site has.
If your site has edu links pointing to it or gov links pointing to it for example it must be very authoritative, or if your website has many natural links and discussions are made from natural sources mentioning how great your website is online and are pointing to your site, this tells google that your site is popular and gives you a ranking accordingly.
Page rank is updated quarterly but has no specific date on update and as a result webmasters around the world are always patiently curious or inpatient to find out when their site will be updated.
Large website companies that are on a page rank of 6 or higher are usually International news websites which naturally grow very popular and as a result reach high page rank, and go as far as company websites such as pepsi.com, adobe.com and even google themselves.
I am very proud to have recorded my own success regarding page rank for one of my website SEO2Webdesign.com , which has finally reached a whopping Page Rank 6 from the very most recent update on 27th September 2008

All 5 clients want to rank 1st page of google for the same key phrase
How far can you really go? I’m sure any SEO company or SEO Consultant can relate to this, in fact I suspect this is a fear that many SEO companies will not admit or discuss openly about.
But let’s be realistic here, if you have a client that wants to be on the 1st page of google for the keyphrase ” Bangkok Property “, and than the next 4 clients or so that you are also doing SEO work for are also bidding for this term, your SEO task becomes more challenging. (I have been reasonable fortunate with clients of mine that are in slightly different areas of expertise in particular Hua Hin Real Estate ).
Respectively you have 10 spots in google for the same keyphrase before you will end up on the 2nd page. So this leaves you room with 5 clients and 5 spots to move around slightly on the 1st page give and take and due to google’s daily algorithms.
5 Most Common Refusal Work and Ways around this:
- Clients Bidding for Same Key phrases - (Don’t lock yourself, suggest that they can be on the the 1st page but becuase your previous clients have bided for the same phrases, they may as a result appear on the 2nd page from time to time.)
- Duplicated Websites - Many SEO companies refuse SEO work if the client wants to market all of their sites that are totally the same (Ways around that are setting up a parked domain to the site they wish to duplicate)
- Static Vs Dynamic Websites - Some SEO’s prefer to work on Static Sites, as other SEO’s prefer to work on Dynamic, depending which one you are used to, working on any different can be a daunting task, as meta keywords and description and page text etc. to adjust are set differently.
(A) Static (Good old find and replace works wonders) ,
(B) Dynamic (Editing the database file keywords after exporting tables can also be a quick resolution)
- Search Engine Friendly Url’s - If your client has old indexed pages such as www.mywebsite.com/mywebpage?=123 and now requires SEO friendly Url’s but does not want his old indexed files to be deleted. (You could make those old pages still indexed but look and feel slightly different.)
- Website Designed in Flash - If the website was purely designed in flash (swf) and are no hard coded html files or similar of that matter uploaded their could be an issue of re-designing the site from scratch to base itself around being SEO friendly.
So the big question is to all SEO companies out there, will you refuse SEO work if this becomes the case? Or will you work around the common issues and tasks to better take care of your clients needs!
