Facebook Scared About Google Me Rumors

Google Me ready to go socially wild!

It has been announced Facebook have recently closed their doors for a period of up to 2 months to enhance their platform totally on the development side as a lead up to rumors that “Google Me” a new social networking platform will change the face of social networking for good.

The Facebook Gossip

CTO Adam D’Angelo former Facebook, claims Google Me is real. Here’s what he had to say about it on Q&A service Quora:
facebook

Google has mentioned that they believe that Facebook will slow down, once Google Me launches and members of Facebook will start moving across.

Of course this is debatable to some extent as there has been other situations where Google has not been totally successful when it comes to social platforms, Google Buzz was one, and Google Wave another.

There has been some gossip that they are going to have certain modules of what Facebook have. So during the 2 month shutdown of their office, perhaps Facebook will remodel and enhance. I know Google advertising has gone through some tough times recently and Facebook Ads are now doing better then ever, so maybe this is some reason why they are going hard in this area to also take advantage of Social advertising.

Are they trying to compete with to many things at once and losing focus? Are they now going to get themselves in a real mess? Or are they going to really change the face of how social marketing future is going to be? What are your thoughts?

Satellite Maps of Haiti Quake from Bing and Google

Tags: ,

As mentioned in my earlier post suggesting Haiti Quake as being one of the most searched keyphrase this month according to Google Trends, I figured it would be an idea to provide something a little more useful and worth looking at.

The devastating earthquake in Haiti recently that killed and injured many thousands was astonishing to see the ruins of before and after shots provided by the Satellite Maps.

Here I have come across a recent video tutorial that shows you how to use the Satellite maps and how to zoom right in on the damage caused by the recent Haiti Earthquake that made thousands homeless and countless people suffering recently.

The Bing mapping system options are very impressive. Although Google Maps still have much better quality, Bing has some nice features in their mapping system, worth playing with. You will also notice in the video CNN have a 360 degree viewing option which is also very impressive.

Here is a donation link provided by Google to support the victims of the earthquake

What SEO Addicts Love About Google?

Tags: , ,

Google is one of the most talked about search engines in the world now. It has been doing great since the first time they launched their search engine. Now, Google is not only the world’s number one search engine ever, it’s also the industry leader in most internet technology platforms right through to gmail and google wave.

What makes people love Google is their continual innovation? It looks very simple to me and to all of us compared to Yahoo and Bing, but yet they bring out the most relevant results. But what about Google? What makes them so special even if they are simple? How could they attract most people on the internet right now, and what are the most popular tools which SEO geeks love?

1. Best place for SEO tracking – webmasters and bloggers used to track their own SEO stats in Google through Google Analytics. It is more reliable than the services of Yahoo and Bing. Now, about 90% of the webmasters are relying on Google Analytics for SEO purposes.

2. Ad revenue sharing program – they have their own revenue sharing program for the publishers to gain percentage of what the advertisers have put in their campaign through CPC (cost-per-click). That’s right, I’m talking about a cool program named Google Adsense. It’s one of the best ad revenue sharing programs in the world.

3. High potentials for campaigning – unlike Google Adsense, they also have Google Adwords which is powered by a unique backend easy to use advertising platform. There are millions of users who search anything using Google, and your ads having a chance to appear in their search results on the right side panel. This is one of the best advertising programs ever to be built in the internet. To get the most out for the return on your money I recommend using programs like SpeedPPC, PPC Bully and Tracking 202.

4. SEO tools provided by Google – there are lots of SEO tools you can deal with. The Google Webmaster tools and Google Ads tool are one of the best they have along with Page Rank Plugin for webmasters.

5. Google Chrome – this is one of the most innovative internet browsers ever invented or created by Google themselves. However they are not designed to install SEO toolbars which are only compatible to Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Google Chrome is much faster than Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox on browsing pages and moving tabs. The design of this cool internet browser is unique than any other.

6. Google Maps – it lets you add and locate your business. Adding your business through google maps is a poweful way to let your clients see where you are. Getting your listing appear on top of other results is also an advantage and works well for internet marketing.

7. Google Social Search – is another feature which lets you find connect relevant blogs, twitter accounts and anything social to be reviewed and to be public or private content on the internet. This is a cool tool which you may find it on Google Experimental Search by clicking “Join this experiment“.

8. Google Productswww.google.com/products is another platform that is a great earner particularly if you have products you want to get listed which are combined in one engine from some of the biggest sites. Knowing how to optimize your product pages in Google is a specialty. Having the product listings display before others is something that can bring in high rewards.

Because Google products is still fairly new there is not too much information on optimizing product pages but if you search hard enough you will find.

I tried to cover pretty much everything here when it comes to why us SEO addicts love Google. SEO pros love to get their page on the top of search engine ranking pages (SERPS) than Yahoo and Bing which are less potential. Google is at the top right now, so we just have to invest our time and money to optimize our sites on Google.

Google Launches Product Listings Ads In Search Results

Tags:

Today it was announced that Google product listing ads display in the google search results, a cost-per-action ad program:

Product Listing Ads is part of our effort to simplify the advertising process for merchants with large product inventories. Some of the key features of Product Listing Ads include:

  • Pay only for results: Product Listing Ads are charged on a cost-per-action (CPA) basis, which means that you only pay when a user clicks on your ad and completes a purchase on your site. Because Product Listing Ads is charged on a CPA basis, it offers a risk-free way for you to reach a larger audience on Google.com.
  • List your entire inventory: Product Listing Ads requires no keywords or additional ad text. Whenever a user enters a search query relevant to an item in your Google Merchant Center account, Google will automatically show the most relevant products along with the associated image, price and product name. Product Listing Ads makes it easy for you to promote your entire product inventory on Google.com.

So far the ads display randomly around half way through the page and it is not yet defined exactly the point of preference. It may turn out in the future that the ads display just below the sponsored listings at the top.

For Affiliate Marketers it has been debated whether this would put them in jeopardy. Getting a product to display in the top of the search results is another story and something all SEO professionals Im sure will be studying more carefully along with the demand. Although it seems Google wants a slice of every action, they are always striving to find better search results but for me I some what think that their search results will end up looking very untidy.

3 Ideas On How Google, Twitter And Facebook Could Double Their Profits

Tags: , ,

IDEA 1
How about this, this is bigger then big! Remember the days when domains came out and even now the huge landrush that is occuring when a new extension comes out. Everyone is trying to secure their company name or even personal name. Well guess what? The same thing is happening already in facebook and twitter, which means those who have missed out on geting the name have missed out completely.
money

Well how about this for an idea. What if Facebook and Twitter made the user that wanted to secure their name lets say www.twitter.com/johnsmith and someone else with the same name really wanted their name but it is already taken. How about if they designed a bidding platform that made users bid for their name. I mean let’s get real here, everyone who has secured their name, I bet you atleast half of them would be prepared to pay for it no matter the cost. I know I would.

IDEA 2
Now get ready for this idea, and I hope your sitting on your chair nice and tight. What if Facebook allowed Google to display search results in their site. They could even go as far as allowing the Google Adwords sponsored listings display in there too. Then of course there is Google Adsense aswell. Can you imagine the click through rate! It would double for sure! Im still surprised they haven’t done a deal on this.

We already know that Twitter approaches advertising differently and are very anal about their ads, but how about if they secure a deal, they were last weeks having talks about displaying tweets in google search results.

IDEA 3

The billion dollar toolbar idea – Google and other companies such as Microsoft are quietly making billions a year from their toolbar. From some case studies they are averaging $20 or more from each user that downloads their toolbar. It’s not a surprise that Facebook now have a toolbar.

But actualy Twitter don’t have their own toolbar instead their are 3rd party sites with twitter toolbars and are cashing in!

Google Wave

Tags: ,

After 2 years of production in Sydney, Australia, Google have finally announced their new platform Google Wave . There has been alot of interest in getting an Invitation to try it out before release. It is still in beta stage and will be officially ready early next year.

They call it the 3p’s – Product – Platform – Protocol

What is really cool about this product is when you are emailing you can kind of quote each paragraph to comment on each paragraph and it automatically does spell check and corrects words for you.

What is also amazing is there is an instant messaging type of system within the platform, as you type and have a conversation the user can see that your typing and instead of waiting on the message, you can see what the user is already starting to type before they have clicked submit.

There is also a playback option that if another user jumps in on the conversation or email, they can see what was said previously without having to go back in other emails. Just really a remarkable option.

Another amazing option is the photo gallery tool. I must admit this is going to be a real test on Facebook as most users love Facebook purely for the reason that they can upload all their images. But with the Google Wave it’s so much more advanced as you can drag and drop photos straight onto your email. Once you see how this works in the video below, your mouth will honestly drop.

This product being open source will be great competition in my view to Microsoft as Microsoft are always clearly after the money. And will kill programs like outlook and any other email programs will totally flop in my opinion. I tell you im certainly ready to move over as soon as they release this to the public, without question.

The Google Wave concept was initially developed as “Walkabout” by Lars and Jens Rasmussen, the brothers who developed the software that became Google Maps.
