Facebook Scared About Google Me Rumors

Google Me ready to go socially wild!

It has been announced Facebook have recently closed their doors for a period of up to 2 months to enhance their platform totally on the development side as a lead up to rumors that “Google Me” a new social networking platform will change the face of social networking for good.

The Facebook Gossip

CTO Adam D’Angelo former Facebook, claims Google Me is real. Here’s what he had to say about it on Q&A service Quora:
facebook

Google has mentioned that they believe that Facebook will slow down, once Google Me launches and members of Facebook will start moving across.

Of course this is debatable to some extent as there has been other situations where Google has not been totally successful when it comes to social platforms, Google Buzz was one, and Google Wave another.

There has been some gossip that they are going to have certain modules of what Facebook have. So during the 2 month shutdown of their office, perhaps Facebook will remodel and enhance. I know Google advertising has gone through some tough times recently and Facebook Ads are now doing better then ever, so maybe this is some reason why they are going hard in this area to also take advantage of Social advertising.

Are they trying to compete with to many things at once and losing focus? Are they now going to get themselves in a real mess? Or are they going to really change the face of how social marketing future is going to be? What are your thoughts?

The Power of Social Media

Tags: , , ,

I am recently surprised by the amount of website promotion that local businesses are doing on social marketing. For example the pub that I recently went to had flyers hung up with the next coming local events, and at the bottom of the flyer instead of having their website address they had their Facebook group page.

There is a lot of marketing that businesses are putting into when it comes to social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. I am also a believer in Facebook advertising and believe you can get your visitors to really spend a lot of time in your group and there is a lot more interaction that can be made between members and your page to get them to spread out into other marketing funnels.

Facebook pages are also now coming up under search engines for certain search terms so you can also optimize your pages to be search engine friendly for certain key phrases.

When you sign up under your account you will normally be asked questions like, what is the ads “likes”, Is the ad targeting singles, or users who are married, what is the age group or location of the users, so the results are very smart and optimize the ads based on your preference. Even when you advertise you get quality ads on relevant pages. On the users side for example if you say that your engaged you will get ads showing in your account to do with wedding photography and anything else.

The good thing about their advertising platform is you can really make your ad stand out by adding not only text but image as well which really separates itself from the way Google displays advertising.

I recently was paid for tweets through Ad.ly on Twitter, some well known hosting companies randomly picked my twitter page to pay per tweet. So the branding and social networking aspect is becoming stronger and stronger and sites are increasing their budgets for everything to do with promoting on social platforms.

I recommend you to get is on the action and sign up to Facebook advertising today!

Creating Facebook Fan Pages for Social Marketing

Tags: ,

Recently just for experimental reasons and of course to later to generate traffic, I was playing with the creation of Facebook fan pages.

It’s really unbelievable to see some of the most basic fan pages that have thousands upon thousands of fans. So anyway I decided to also create a few fan pages that were also quite general just as a trial to see how far they can go.

What I found is usually people who join fan pages, join because it’s something they also believe in relating to the topic or have an interest in or remembering something about the past. There are hundreds of ideas I have about fan pages, these are a list of a few that I did:

1. Who wore MC Hammer Pants in the 90′s
2. I had a bowl cut in the 90′s
3. Your first job at 13

Of course I have other fan groups that do ok in other areas such as business or for clients, but this lot was purely for fun and as a trial to see how quick they grow.

When creating fan pages I find the most important factors to generate traffic to those pages are by coming up with a catchy titles, adding regular content including videos, and photos so that users can comment on them.

You can actually promote your fan pages further by using the Facebook advertising feature to send traffic to your site that way, or of course using Internet Marketing methods.

Do not get confused between fans or groups, Facebook groups are more for businesses and charity etc. that hold regular events and discussions. Where as Fan pages are more general and everyone is usually invited to be a fan of something!

Does anyone else use fan pages for promotion? What kinds of results are you seeing?

Boost Your Visitors Through Facebook Fan Promotion

Tags: , , ,

A lot of guys and girls out there are addicted to a social networking program called Facebook. Today, it has reached about 350 million members on the internet and is still growing over and over again. Not only do the members want to join just for fun they also want to be part of a group or community which they can also  promote their business by posting on walls and fan pages. But how do we increase our number of fans and friends in our account? We will do this in a manual way, not in an automatic form like some software. We know that promoting our website in Facebook is truly a big potential, because you will gain lots of visitors here as there are lots of visitors to attract.

Boosting your visitors is quite challenging though, and can take you up to months to work it out manually. But if you want to get faster results on your traffic, you better buy some advertising space either banner or links to a website with thousands of page impressions and unique visitors daily.

The best technique is to invite friends based on groups that interest you, so this way you have an instant connection and similar interest. You just simply request them to be your friend along with a little message until you gain friends. Once they confirm your friend request, you may be able to invite them to your group and to your fan page.

Patience is a virtue, because this is a slow process. If you’re doing this for the first time by just sending invitations to your confirmed friends, you will experience that 1 or 2 friends will join your group and fan page every 4 days to 1 week, depends on how active they are in checking notifications. Do not stop inviting them, and if they want to exchange with you, this is also a good idea.

In a month, your Facebook fans and group members will increase gradually, slowly but surely until more and more are being invited to join the discussion. If your friends in the first degree, check their friends in the second degree, third degree and so on and keep inviting, you will have more fans and groups in the near future. But it’s also useless if your group and fan page is inactive with no topics at all, so you must keep updating it by putting a share button in every blog post you have.

The more friends, fans and group members, the more you will gain potential visitors back to your website and earn lots of impressions daily. You could even gain lots of referrals there, if you have programs with referral links too. It’s a good way to perform viral marketing, and Facebook is one source. Affiliate marketers and SEO fanatics are successful in building their traffic through Facebook, because it is a more personal way of marketing. This is a place where you gain lots of traffic and visitors without investing on advertising, unless of course you’re interested on Facebook ad campaigns. That is also worth to try.

3 Ideas On How Google, Twitter And Facebook Could Double Their Profits

Tags: , ,

IDEA 1
How about this, this is bigger then big! Remember the days when domains came out and even now the huge landrush that is occuring when a new extension comes out. Everyone is trying to secure their company name or even personal name. Well guess what? The same thing is happening already in facebook and twitter, which means those who have missed out on geting the name have missed out completely.
money

Well how about this for an idea. What if Facebook and Twitter made the user that wanted to secure their name lets say www.twitter.com/johnsmith and someone else with the same name really wanted their name but it is already taken. How about if they designed a bidding platform that made users bid for their name. I mean let’s get real here, everyone who has secured their name, I bet you atleast half of them would be prepared to pay for it no matter the cost. I know I would.

IDEA 2
Now get ready for this idea, and I hope your sitting on your chair nice and tight. What if Facebook allowed Google to display search results in their site. They could even go as far as allowing the Google Adwords sponsored listings display in there too. Then of course there is Google Adsense aswell. Can you imagine the click through rate! It would double for sure! Im still surprised they haven’t done a deal on this.

We already know that Twitter approaches advertising differently and are very anal about their ads, but how about if they secure a deal, they were last weeks having talks about displaying tweets in google search results.

IDEA 3

The billion dollar toolbar idea – Google and other companies such as Microsoft are quietly making billions a year from their toolbar. From some case studies they are averaging $20 or more from each user that downloads their toolbar. It’s not a surprise that Facebook now have a toolbar.

But actualy Twitter don’t have their own toolbar instead their are 3rd party sites with twitter toolbars and are cashing in!

Benefits Of Facebook Group

Tags:

When Facebook was introduced to the public, a lot of them attracted to this unique social networking program that competes with Friendster, MySpace, Perfspot, Tagged and so many others.  Facebook is much more different than any other social networking sites right now, because of their many applications, marketplace, message boards, chat rooms and so on.

Facebook Group

Facebook is simply designed as one of the simple but attractive social network companies in the world. Today, millions of users are now getting involved on it, since Friendster and MySpace took over the heights for the past few years. Now Facebook rules the whole social networking world, which millions of users are using it for fun, entertainment and business.

Speaking of business, they have applied themselves a grouping application called Facebook group. It is usually designed for members to form their own group which interests them. Like we say for example, if you create a group about search engine optimization (SEO), then you expect that the ones who may join your group are interested with search engine optimization (SEO), and it keeps on coming. You can discuss with each other there about SEO, promoting your SEO services, giving tips to other group mates, blogging about SEO and so much more. This depends on the person’s interest. If you create a group about sports, entertainment, music, etc., then you expect that only those who have interests in your niche may join your group.

The benefit of creating a group is to make more friends which have the same interests with you, rather if we’re talking about search engine optimization (SEO), affiliate marketing, sports, entertainment, music, education……the choice is yours! Other business related sections are contextual ads and the marketplace.

In that way, you can advertise your own products and services, and even promoting jobs and opportunities. Face book is simply one of the best social networks today, not only to make fun and always make friends with each other, but also promoting your business and services which can be applied by creating your own group. Some members of Friendster, MySpace, Perfspot, Tagged and other social networks have shifted to Facebook because of their amazing simple features, compare to their old ones.

Right now, Facebook has many sign-ups daily compared to Friendster, MySpace, Perfspot, Tagged and other social networks. Paid social networks like Apsense, Frenszone, Yuwie, PeopleString are also competing with them, but not really promising as usual. Nobody beats Facebook as of now, through Facebook groups, you may be benefited with lots of friends and potentially making your business successful in the upcoming years.
