Although a little bit costly, PRWeb are really my favourite Press release submission company. I have sent dozens of press releases to them over the years. It is particularly useful to submit a press release with them when you have just launched a company or product or you have a special announcement to make.
Why I prefer a Press Release rather then an Article?
With Press Releases you can create buzz and get your audience to look at what you have to offer, it is more like an advertorial. Where as an article is about general facts of a particular topic and in no way or form needed or intended to be anything more then a smell or trace of promotion.
What is so special about PRWeb?
One thing about a press release from PRWeb is you instantly get good qualified traffic to your site once you have submitted your release. Most news aggregator sites link to PRWeb so if you have a press release that is interesting enough, sites even as big as Business Week and Yahoo news will post your content. Very useful for traffic building.
You can even get first page rankings for the keywords in your article title, it is that powerful!
Other good points is you can add video to your press release, logos and links!
Every time I launch a new site I use PRWeb !

This is very valuable, I will be doing a press release to launch my new site MoneyMakingPrograms.net
Thank you!
Interesting, I have been looking around at valuable sites to submit my press releases, will be sure to give them a try!
Hi Dan – thanks for your loyalty and the shout out to PRWeb! Much appreciated!
Hi Frank, I am honored to have you here on my blog, you are welcome here any time!
I'm a big fan of PRWeb also. They incorporate SEO features such as your summary becomes meta data for search engines. The title of your press release becomes the title of your page. I like that you can add as many attachments as you want.
Still there is a place for articles – I suggest them when clients don't have enough newsworthy content. Though I worry about a business where nothing is happening! Sometimes a press release can be made into an article by changing it slightly and distributing it. The key to both is distribution. It's how you get visibility that leads to links.

Nice achievment Janet, Im sure you were happy with your clients results!
As for me, I just sent out a new release for one of my sites CouponSalsa.com. Here are the details:
Dear Daniel
According to our records, your release entitled "Coupon Salsa – Coupon Codes, Promos & Discounts " went live on 2010-08-30. So far your release has received 3156 impressions and 317 reads.
Quite happy with these results so far!
Thanks Janet for sounding off! She's definitely a regular and I'd point out she's being modest — she's got a great post that's worth a read: A Press Release That Led to BIG Sales – http://bit.ly/c57Suu
Thanks Janet and Frank,
This is a fantastic achievement by Janet, but in any case this is what it is about, press releases should be write-up that converts sales or leads at the minimum,
Also I would like to mention before doing any press release it is vital to do your keyword research particularly for the headlines which will have a good chance of coming up in Google, so you need to find key phrases that have a high search volume, and for this I use Market Samurai, I highly recommend it to everyone.
Dan,
First time visitor, not the last though.
I have not even looked at PR as a traffic option, but I have known about it. Thanks for reminding me to add it to my arsenal.
Thanks also to Frank and Janet for providing such value in the comments. I will be looking at what Janet did to see how it is done.
Any advice on where I should go from here. I definitely want to start using PR but have no idea what to do or where to start?
Thanks for the post Dan.
You have a great looking blog btw – very professional
Thanks Alex,
Although I have had some success, I have not yet had as much as Janet with her nice conversion, but I soon intend to release another one soon, so I will keep everyone updated as to how it goes
I have around 3 new sites I have recently launched so I am just deciding one which one I will send out a release to first? I will probably submit my new site CouponSalsa.com tonight to go out for Monday!
Note: Alex, once you register with PRWeb you will notice different plans, you can go as basic as possible all the way to higher paid options, but even the basic plan is very effective!
