As what's good for the goose has to be good for the gander! By effectively working with directly competing clients one cannot achieve the same level of success equally for each client. Personally, if I hired an SEOer and discovered they were not working at maximum effectiveness because the work they did for me was being diluted by work for my competition (in the SERPs), I'd not be best pleased - and he'd have one less client to worry about cramming into the top SERPs. Surely the aim of a service is to do the best possible job one can for each client. But then again, there isn't much else to measure it by. Maybe they should bid for first place, and the remaining should bid for second, and so on, and so on.
