Some good point there, one of my client approached me recently to build a site on flash, after few sitting I managed to made them understand that they should not go with all flash website, A good summary for newbie blogger who have some interest in optimizing his own site for Search engines.

Hi ndixon, in fact this is the very pitfall which either makes it or breaks it and your right, concentrating on each client to the maximum potential is the key, but this does not change the fact you have the right to call the shots when taking on the job just as much as the client has the call on deciding whether this is the right thing for them to do! As what's good for the goose has to be good for the gander!

Thank you

Surely the aim of a service is to do the best possible job one can for each client. By effectively working with directly competing clients one cannot achieve the same level of success equally for each client.
Personally, if I hired an SEOer and discovered they were not working at maximum effectiveness because the work they did for me was being diluted by work for my competition (in the SERPs), I'd not be best pleased - and he'd have one less client to worry about cramming into the top SERPs.

I don't think an SEO company should ever say that they will get 1st place or 2nd place. But then again, there isn't much else to measure it by.

Maybe they should bid for first place, and the remaining should bid for second, and so on, and so on.
