    Well, Alexa can be tricked and not accurate — and only shows people who use their toolbar. However; this is a good introduction.

    Hi Joseph, Alexa rankings are not really accurate although having said that there is discrepancy as well that usually they are. This will always be a debatable topic but overall going by Alexa is still a very good guide especially for well known sites that are listed in the top 1000 for any country or niche you will know for sure that they are popular sites.
