i think do-follow links are important for creating backlinks, otherwise its useless for an SEO to comments on no-follow blogs.

Combination of do follow + no follow is better for natural growing backlink in search engine eyes. Remember, google new algorithm code name "Panda" is very smart to eliminating the page which only collecting do follow link.

Google gives more importance on dofollow where as Yahoo puts more emphasis on nofollow tags. Anyway, both are important.

I think do-follow is more recommended than no-follow in blog commenting to other’s blogs using a specific relevant keyword

I dont think keeping your real name is important… you search for click here in google and the first result is Adobe… now how in the world click here is relevant to adobe… anchor text matters but you should use the same anchor text everywhere
