Creating Facebook Fan Pages for Social Marketing

Recently just for experimental reasons and of course to later to generate traffic, I was playing with the creation of Facebook fan pages.

It’s really unbelievable to see some of the most basic fan pages that have thousands upon thousands of fans. So anyway I decided to also create a few fan pages that were also quite general just as a trial to see how far they can go.

What I found is usually people who join fan pages, join because it’s something they also believe in relating to the topic or have an interest in or remembering something about the past. There are hundreds of ideas I have about fan pages, these are a list of a few that I did:

1. Who wore MC Hammer Pants in the 90’s
2. I had a bowl cut in the 90’s
3. Your first job at 13

Of course I have other fan groups that do ok in other areas such as business or for clients, but this lot was purely for fun and as a trial to see how quick they grow.

When creating fan pages I find the most important factors to generate traffic to those pages are by coming up with a catchy titles, adding regular content including videos, and photos so that users can comment on them.

You can actually promote your fan pages further by using the Facebook advertising feature to send traffic to your site that way, or of course using Internet Marketing methods.

Do not get confused between fans or groups, Facebook groups are more for businesses and charity etc. that hold regular events and discussions. Where as Fan pages are more general and everyone is usually invited to be a fan of something!

2010 SEO Competition

SEO competitions are a great way to get noticed in the industry and allow you to really test your own skills and see who is best

For those of you who are not aware, GSEO.net is a site of mine and I have decided to put together 2 SEO competitions. I will regularly add other competitions to the site so be sure to always keep an eye on it here.

Facts About Youtube Marketing

Youtube has been one of the most successful social media sites in the world, and it was mostly used by many people who want to upload their own videos just for fun, entertainment, education and business. They also want to increase their millions of visitors to subscribe on their blog, add it to their favorites, rate and comment about the video. Youtube is also a place where you can market yourself or your business through the use of video marketing. In other words, we can use it on our own terms, known as Youtube marketing. Unlike any other social media sites like Veoh, Megavideo and Vodpod, Youtube is the highest number of visitors and page rank like no other. They have a huge PR9 Google Rank, which tells me that they have done a good job with such hard effort. They have the same page rank with a popular social network called Twitter.

Youtube is one of the best places to market your business. Many of the online marketers right now are uploading and doing online marketing on Youtube rather than Veoh, Megavideo or Vodpod. They believe that Youtube is the best place to do video marketing which of course, they need some sort of strategy that attracts many viewers out there, and to bring out some nice comments, ratings, favorites and even subscribe to their list.

First things first, they upload their videos and while it is uploading, you will edit or create your own title and description of your video. The way they market their video is to put a link into their description as a supporting backlink. Although they don’t care if Youtube uses no-follow or do-follow attribute, but the point is to gain more visitors, targeted traffic and revenue to their site through internet revenue income streams like Clickbank, Amazon, Adsense, etc.

The fact is, Youtube marketing really impresses them and to motivate their needs for making their business successful as they want. It needs to be taken to the next level, not just updating contents and submit them to article and blog directories, but also we need video just to attract viewers out there and to keep coming back for more.

This is how Youtube marketing was really the best to market your own video rather than any other competing social medias out there, and there’s nothing to be the best for business promotions than Youtube.

Top Digg Stories In 2009

This year in 2009 has been a very challenging year for all, and the amount of stories and internet growth has been a story in it’s own. More interestingly what I found was that the stories in 2009 were more dugg then any other story in any other year. Obama has been amongst the most dugg stories on the planet according to Digg.com with the Top Page having 4 stories in the top, and all stories averaging between 25-40,000 diggs.

Michael Jackson also getting to the top of the polls with 24,721 diggs and 2,894 comments. Also not surprising and on the list is Google which had a story dugg about a google search url shortening feature with over 11,000 diggs.

Making it to the 2nd page of the Top Diggs is Apple and one which seems to never go away Iraqi journalist throwing his shoe at George Bush with over 10,000 Diggs.

With a few more months to go until the end of 2009, who would like to predict the Top Digg by the end of the year! Shall Obama lose position? Personally I think the only chance he has on being beaten is if something crazy happened such as big changes in global warming or world war 3. What do you think?
