Of the six billion people on our planet, only a few dozen had the foresight in the mid 1990′s to start acquiring domain names with the idea that they could become valuable in the future. Those very rare individuals were almost universally regarded as fools who were flushing perfectly good money down the drain. Fast forward barely a decade ahead and yesterday’s fools have become today’s visionaries.

“Visionary” is a word that gets thrown around pretty casually in this business today and it is often applied to folks who, by their own admission, just happened to be lucky – in the right place at the right time. But there are true visionaries in the space and none is more deserving of that apellation than Dan Pulcrano. He saw (and bet the ranch) on the future of domains. Today he owns a near priceless portfolio that includes 20 of the 30 largest American city names in the .com extension (many already developed), including LosAngeles.com, San Francisco.com and Philadelphia.com to name just a few.

With Domain Name Sellouts happening including 4LLLL.com’s no longer available to register and Sales like Advertise.com selling for $900,000 today at Afternic and iReport.com selling for $750,000 sold by Rick Shwartz on January 2008 we are in for a good start this year!

If you have had a look at the latest Domain Sales Report this year it all looks very promising.

Not to mention coming 3rd in the highlight was the domain MaturePorn.com which sold for $130,000. This was of course not as near as Porn.com which sold last year for $9.5 Million, but still a healthy make.

Another nice sale was PID.com which sold for $25,000 on SEDO and 9J.com for $23,456.

For the record Tees.com sold for $252,000 and Atty.com was sold for $48,900 a very good result for a 4 Letter domain, along with Clap.com for $29,000 and Racy.com for a nice $25,000.

4 Letter Domains

Tags: ,

4LLLL.com’s as of the 2nd of November 2007 have been all registered. The only way to buy a 4 letter domain name is in the aftermarket. Before the buyout there had been a huge panic in the market and all investors and domainers had bought heavily in this market.

In march 2006 there were 100 000 LLLL.com available for register from a total of 456,976 different combinations.

In June 2007, 30,000 were still available but since November 2, 2007 all LLLL.com were registered and the only way to get one is from the aftermarket, backorders and auctions.

When demand increases and supply decreases, prices therefore rise. Values of LLLL are now going up very quickly. You can see by the latest Sales Discussion Thread and Evaluation Thread

Like 3 letter.com that are selling for over $6000,00, domain name speculators and investors sees in it as gold mine, they buy or backorder them all for future investment.

Some companies like Classy Domains and 4 Letter Domains and 4LD are already selling for around $5000+ each.

Domain Bubble

Tags:

When internet began , domains were free and someone regged the most crappy ones instead of regging dictionary words.

Then someone smarter started to think about what could happen in the long time and started regging all dictionary.

Then we had a Buble burst in 2000 but internet was not a bubble and by 2003 the online business was growing even faster than before.

By that time Online advertising exploded and Google started to build its empire.

LLL.com ran out and domain names became expensive property with all 3LLL.com’s reaching a min of 6k and have reached all the way to 1 million more than many occasions including the sale of guy.com 2 months ago.

Now we simply are assisting to the continuing of the internet growth by which ever means including the buy and sell of 4 LLLL.com’s which are now the fastest growing piece of property on the internet and some sales have hit massive heights including porn.com in 2007 for $9.5 million dollars.
