Do not be fooled, the old fashioned affiliate scams are dying out!

Recently the Shoemoney System and Bring The Fresh mentioned that Affiliate is now, not like what it used to be. Affiliate 2.0 as we now call it does the almost opposite of the old school way of affiliate marketing. To give you an idea of the way Affiliate Marketing used to be, was more or less a way to bring fear and scare tactics into an offer. Some of these include,”There is only 232 copies left” or “Buy before 2am tonight eastern time” or “Having a clock ticking in your offer to show time is running out and to act quickly. These kind of tactics known as Scarcity is dying a slow miserable death.

Affiliate 2.0 is the way of the future

These days in Affiliate 2.0 its more about building client relationships and long term trust, so that your visitors come back and recommend your products to friends. It is not about being rich quick and then having people chase you. Affiliate 2.0 is about giving away free offers, this may include giving an ebook or a premium video away, even a voucher or gift, anything of value away to get members on your email list. Email lists are king and it is where all the money is at!

Look past the smoke screens

But for those newcomers online that want to create an business online that makes money, it is very confusing for them as their are millions of websites and systems out there to choose, it’s very confusing I know, but what is not confusing is choosing the right product once you know of the red light signals, once you know and can detect the red light signals it is very easy in the future when you buy into anything to know what is a scam.affiliate scams Being Aware Of Affiliate Scams

I’m sure you have heard all this before where systems promise you the world and your time has come, and nothing is more beneficial then the program you are about to buy from their site. Just be aware, even if they offer a money back guarantee you need to be just as cautious for even wasting your time signing up to the product. Do you receive money back for all the countless hours you spend researching to try and find the best answers and ways to profit without having to buy into their silly sales pitch? No you don’t. So always remember money is time, and I’m sure you don’t want to be still researching on the best ways to make money online after months or years.

As soon as I can smell a sales tactic that I don’t like I am usually gone, another example is when you sign up to a system and paid your money and after the thank you page, and before you get to your product or be able to even login to your members area, you have to scroll through another 5 pages with all other sales text and hype on buying other modules, or upgrading. This is one of the biggest scam tricks in the world today. Here you were thinking you would buy a cheap product that could do it all, and then all of a sudden you are hit you with other offers that they claim is more valuable then the offer they already sold you on.

We have all been victims and it is only normal to be stung a few times, but if you have some stories that you would like to share please do, do not feel shy to share in any way. I would be happy to advise and discuss further!

Hi Soren, yeah I have also checked out that system, I agree, it seems to be very misleading and scarcity tactics are also in the equation!

I have also seen a lot of scam like sites out there – Luckily I get a strange but very clear alarm bell ringing at 120 decibel when looking at something that hasn't got my trust! I am trying to educate people to be more balanced and centered, because this is the place where you dont get fooled easily. Know your needs and know your self and you will easily see that most of the stuff out there is more or less scammy. And what's more… nearly all the stuff the Internet Gurus are selling (get your own stream of income) – you can find for free!!! Not all but most of it…

I have used TheMaskedGuru a lot and he is fun! Im writing and educating in the same area at my blog with the ironical name: http://themilliondollargurublog.com

It's a great article and Im happy to see that more people are getting aware of this!

    Hi David,

It comes more natural to some picking up these vibes when purchasing programs on sites, and yes there are a lot of free ones out there, but eventually those free also turn into paid somewhere down the track. Once you are on their subscriber list, you will get loads of offers on other paid products sent to you ;)

In my opinion, better to pay for something and get what you need saving you time and hassle. Not to say that free is not good, but its almost reversal, you get something free now and suffer later, or get something paid now of quality and not suffer at all. In the 17 years I have been marketing and 5 + strong years online, I have finally understood this. Anyway with this in mind I recently launched MakeMoneyPrograms.net – http://www.danlew.com/make-money-programs/ – I hope there are some quality programs for you to use on there, enjoy!
